Dungeon Crawler Carl is an easy second place pick for us (almost tied for first) here at Geek to Geek.  This LitRPG audibook and paperback series is a ton of fun but you have to give it an hour or two listen or a couple chapters in before true buy-in happens (but it is WELL worth the investment).  This series follows Carl, an everyday guy, who finds himself thrust into an intergalactic death dungeon with his snarky ex-girlfriend's cat, Donut. Together, they battle insane monsters, navigate lethal traps, and climb the dungeon's floors to survive. What sets this series apart isn't just the epic leveling-up, creative game mechanics, or dark humor—it's the brilliant narration by Jeff Hays. His voice work brings each quirky character and intense moment to life, elevating the already immersive storytelling to a new level of audiophile geekiness.

Primal Hunter is an action-packed LitRPG audiobook series where Jake is thrown into a brutal new world where survival depends on leveling up, evolving powers, and embracing his primal instincts. Defiance of the Fall is a thrilling LitRPG audiobook series where Earth undergoes a cosmic transformation. Zac, our unsuspecting hero, is thrust into a ruthless system filled with monsters, levels, and endless challenges. Zac’s journey is one of power, resilience, and tactical mastery as he rises from a survivor to a powerhouse, facing gods and ancient powers along the way. The world-building and progression systems are top-notch, with plenty of depth for LitRPG enthusiasts. Add to that the gripping narration by Pavi Proczko, whose commanding voice perfectly captures Zac’s relentless determination, making the audiobook an immersive and intense experience.

While not strictly a LitRPG, the Cradle audiobook series  by Will Wight is frequently  mentioned alongside LitRPG audibook titles due to its progression fantasy elements and we whole-heartedly agree. Many in our community consider Cradle an overall all-time favorite and it keeps getting mentioned all over social media as a rising star in the fantasy genre. The series features shorter books that pack a punch, and the character  development kicks into high gear around books 4 or 5.   The audiobook is narrated by the talented Travis Baldree, who also lends his voice  to other popular LitRPG titles.
